Does Skepta want the smoke with Wiley? (Picture: REX/Shutterstock)It’s taken three weeks but Wiley has finally responded to Skepta with a new diss track, Don’t Bread Me.
Earlier this month, Skepta, 36, dropped his own scathing diss track, Wish You Were Here, and now Wiley, 40, has fired his own shots, reigniting the bitter feud.
Don’t Bread Me sees Wiley mock Skepta’s visa issues when visiting Australia last year and his rival’s friendship with Dizzee Rascal, while also accusing Skepta of putting the stoppers on his brother JME’s career.
Opening the track, Wiley blasts back: ‘I’m not gonna lie, all them you weren’t there likkle cheap shots, like come one man that’s no kind of level.’
Addressing Skepta’s detainment in down under, Wiley raps: ‘So how you gonna talk about I weren’t there, when the feds had you in Australia.’
Dragging Dizzee Rascal into the feud after his and Skepta’s recent collaboration Money Right, Wiley says: ‘You likkle eediat, Get Dizzee, come round ‘ere, this style none of you run around ‘ere.’
After accusing Skepta of being a clout chaser – the biggest insult in this social media age – Wiley claims that his rival’s career would be in the gutter if Meridian Dan’s hit single, German Whip, didn’t breathe new life into the grime scene three years ago.
Wiley raps: ‘If Dan never made German Whip, you’d be right back there at the back of the line.’
Delivering another low blow, he adds: ‘And you ain’t above clouds, you’re the basic grime, I do shut up and fuckery and facety grime.’
The feud between the grime stars reached fever pitch in October when Wiley ridiculed Skepta for working with his other enemy Dizzee Rascal.
In an epic Instagram rant, Wiley said: ‘What is happening? Why is everyone such a prick?’ ‘You know why I’m the king? Because I tell people to work with you, you tell people to “fuck Wiley. Fuck grime, I’m a pop star. Fuck all them man”. You and Skepta, I hope you’re happily ever after bruv.
‘Dizzee and Skepta on a tune, you know what? Neither of you lot can talk to me, I’m not talking to you. That’s it, done. You made your bed now you can go and lie in it you pagans.’
Maybe Skepta can use his loaf of bread for comfort?
