Why isn’t Leigh Halfpenny playing for Wales against France?
Leigh Halfpenny will not face England as he continues his recovery from a concussion.
The full-back was flattened by a late tackle from Australia’s Samu Kerevi in November and has been on the sidelines for the last four months.
But Scarlets coach and Warren Gatland’s Wales successor Wayne Pivac is expecting him to be back extremely soon.
Pivac, who will take charge of Wales after the World Cup, said: “What we’ve seen is that he’s very, very close to playing.
“He wasn’t ready to play last week — as simple as that.
“The medical guys just determined he wasn’t ready and he’d be better off missing that game.
“He’s very close and we don’t expect him to be too far away.”
