Who was Queen Victoria's sister Feodora and who plays her in series 3?

Her half-sister arrives at Buckingham Palace at the start of series 3 to greet the Queen after travelling from Germany and seeking sanctuary.
The new series is set to portray growing tensions between the Queen and Feodora, but the belief is that they had a good relationship in reality.
This season will also see her deal with the revolutions happening at various countries across Europe while trying to keep her working class citizens happy.

She was the half-sister of Queen Victoria as they were both the daughters of Princess Victoria of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld.
Princess Victoria was first married to Feodora’s father Emich Carl who was the 2nd Prince of Leiningen.
They lived together in Germany and had two children – Feodora and her older brother Carl.
In 1814 Emich died, with his son Carl taking over his title as Prince of Leiningen, while Victoria was left as a widow.

The death of Princess Charlotte of Wales saw problems arise finding a successor to the throne and this led to Princess Victoria entering her second marriage in 1818 when she wed Prince Edward, who was the Duke of Kent and Strathearn.
One year after their marriage Queen Victoria was born and this saw the family move to the UK as Victoria could be the next heir to the British throne.
Feodora developed a close relationship with her half-sister, but following her marriage to Ernst I at Kensington Palace, the two of them moved back to Germany.
The couple lived in a castle called Schloss Langenurg and had six children together – three sons and three daughters.
Feodora visited Buckingham Palace on numerous occasions following her marriage, often travelling with her husband and children.

In series 3 of Victoria actress Kate Fleetwood will be playing the role of Princess Feodora.
The 46-year-old currently stars as Nancy Birch in the period drama Harlots which airs on ITV Encore in the UK.
She is mostly known for her theatre work, having started as part of the Royal Shakespeare Company.
In the past Kate has been nominated for a Tony Award for her role as Lady Macbeth, as well as an Olivier Award for playing Julie in London Road which was performed at the National Theatre.
She has also had roles in EastEnders, Silent Witness, Walking the Dead and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1.
Victoria series 3 starts on ITV at 9pm on Sunday 24 March.
