The Villains lost the second leg 1-0 after winning the first 2-1, so the game went into extra-time and eventually penalties.
A fantastic performance from Villa goalkeeper Jed Steer helped them win from the spot-kicks and took them into the Wembley final where they will meet either Derby Country or Leeds United.
Leeds are in the box seat going into the second leg on Wednesday night after winning the first match 1-0 at Pride Park.
No team has ever progressed through a Championship semi-final after losing the first leg at home, so history is against the Rams.
