HIT THE WALL: The latest home trend is to use sample pots of paint to decorate an entire wall. Buy a few tester colours and use lengths of masking tape to create an angular pattern on the wall. Then paint each section a different colour for a fun effect. You only need around three pots, which cost on average £2 each from hardware stores, compared to £17 for a 2.5-litre pot of Dulux paint. Currently there are tester pots at B&Q for just 10p, down from £1.70!
