Netflix and The Umbrella Academy have played cupid for a New York couple and gave them their dream, Umbrella Academy themed wedding.
Nick ‘Ducky’ Vojtek and Katharine Nitschke work together in a comic book store, with Kat falling in love with The Umbrella Academy when it was first released.
‘Getting married thanks to a comic book is amazing!’ declared Ducky. ‘What we’ve gathered from the comics really is things can really be dark and stormy all day every day, but with family, everything’s going to be OK.’
Also a massive fan of My Chemical Romance, the pair were greeted by their family and friends who walked them through the streets of New York in a black parade (get it?) as a violinist led the procession.

They were married under a giant umbrella in Bryant Park on 15 February, the day the series dropped on Netflix.
‘I promise to be your lover, your best friend, your partner and everything in between,’ Nick said for his vows.

‘And I vow to not only love you as much as I love you now, but I will love you even more for the rest of our lives.’
Their wedding reception was held at a specialist pop-up of Agnes’s beloved Giddy’s cake shop.
Congratulations you two!
The Umbrella Academy is available on Netflix now.
