UK weather forecast – Sunny spells and warm weather for most today – but there could be some downpours – The Sun

MOST Brits will enjoy sunny spells and warm weather today – but there could be downpours in parts of the country.
The Met Office warned showers could develop across central, northern and eastern parts – but any rain in southeast England will soon ease.

After sizzling temperatures in the late twenties over the past few days, conditions may be feeling milder for most of the country.
Temperatures will only reach as high as 20C in Southampton, Exeter and Cardiff.
Met Office forecasters warned it could be windier and cooler across the far northeast.
The evening will be mostly dry with sunny intervals, although there will be one or two light showers in southern and eastern England.
It will become dry with clear spells for many later in the night, but there is a risk of rain affecting parts of eastern England and East Anglia.
Conditions will feel noticeably cooler than the scorching June heatwave, which saw temperatures peak at 35C.
The mercury hit 35C in Northolt, Middlesex, as Britain basked in extreme heat sweeping across Europe from North Africa.
But the Met Office said the milder conditions may not be around for long.
Forecaster Greg Dewhurst told Sun Online: “It is going to be a week of unsettled weather.
“High temperatures combined with rain showers, which are expected to be heavy at times and we may also see some thunderstorms.
“But it could be that by next weekend the warm weather should return with temperatures in the late twenties.”

The Met Office tweeted: “A weak jet stream sits across the UK over the next few days, with the cooler air being ‘squeezed out’ into next week.
“The warmth won’t necessarily mean sunshine though, it will be fairly cloudy and humid, with rain for some.”
