3 Brother Tyson backed the idea suggesting it could improve Tommy’s career
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph ex-heavyweight champion Fury, 30, revealed he has been watching the hit ITV show and believes his brother’s new found fame is “good for him”.
Fury said: “Boxing is a popularity contest and you need to sell tickets.
“It will elevate his career. Since Tommy’s been on there, he’s already got half a million followers on social media.
“It’s good for him. I’m very happy for him. He’s doing it on his own, fair play.”
Tommy had beaten Jevgenijs Andrejevs and Callum Ide before joining the Reality TV show, with Brit boxing legend Ricky Hatton training the 20-year-old.
Frank Warren, who promotes both Fury’s, echoed the Gypsy King explaining Love Island will help Tommy build a name for himself away from his famous brother.
Warren told BBC Sport: “He is going to step out of Tyson’s shadow, that’s for sure as far as recognition is concerned.
“The British public will certainly know who he is, it’s been great for his profile.
