Tom Hanks on what it was like to record his final Toy Story 4 lines

Toy Story fans are gearing up for the release of the Disney franchise’s fourth movie and teasing us all, Tom Hanks has said recording Woody’s final scenes had been ‘pretty profound’.
The Hollywood actor had voiced Woody in the 1995 original of Toy Story and he’s back as the loveable Sheriff this time round.
He joins fan favourites such as Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear and Wallace Shawn as Rex and has now revealed exactly what it was like to wrap yet another film dedicated to Andy’s toys.
Speaking at a press conference in Florida, Hanks revealed he had recorded his final lines while facing away from everyone else and looking at the wall.
‘I didn’t want to have any self-consciousness for what I knew was going to be the… last few hours I was spending with the movie,’ he said.

Another thing making the moment that little bit more special for Hanks was that he recorded the original Toy Story movie in the same booth he got to work on his final scene for movie number four.
He said: ‘You drive into the lot, through the same gate, you park in the same spot they had for you, then you go through the same doors, get in your car and you drive back through.
‘And you think, “I have recorded the last moment of the current Toy Story.”‘

Today’s technology has also allowed producers to still have Don Rickles voicing Mr Potato Head, despite his passing in 2017.
Toy Story 4’s director Josh Cooley confirmed that Don will still very much be a part of this movie, as requested by his family.
Toy Story 4 will be released in the UK on June 21
