The Only Way is Essex gets major cull as eight cast members axed from show

Eight Towie stars have left the show (Picture: ITV Be)The Only Way is Essex has shown eight major cast members the door in one of the biggest shake-ups in the show’s history.
Myles Barnett and girlfriend Kady McDermott, Jon and Chris Clark, Jordan Wright, Adam Oukhellou, Chloe Lewis and Dean Ralph will not be returning for the show’s new series.
‘Every series we review our cast to ensure we’re following the lives of those who are most interesting and willing to share their real lives and relationship highs and lows,’ a Towie spokesperson confirmed to Metro.co.uk.

Kady and Myles have not made many friends within the cast (Picture: Rex)‘A number of cast have been notified that they’re not being contracted for the start of series 24 as we look to bring in some fresh new faces, however we’ve always maintained that cast can return as and when the timing is right for them and the show.
‘It’s how TOWIE has stayed so fresh and exciting for nearly a decade.’
‘We remain grateful to every single cast member that has featured in TOWIE and contributed to its huge success,’ they added.

Jon was reportedly struggling with the pressure of the show (Picture: Rex)The Sun Online reports that Chloe, who joined the show in 2015, agreed to leave the show with producers, while the others were trimmed away to give the show a fresh coat of paint.
The site also reports that Jon Clark, who previously appeared on Love Island, was struggling with the pressure of the show, and his absence would also cut away brother Chris’ involvement, as he has spent less and less time on screen.

Meanwhile, Myles and some of the other team have been working on their businesses and careers outside of the show.
However, while their time as a permanent member is up, they are welcome to come back as guest stars or at a later date.
The Only Way is Essex is available to watch now on ITV Player.
