A TESCO insider has revealed the things they can’t tell you – from yellow stickers to “free” meal deals.
After years working in a Tesco store, the member of staff has lifted the lid on the things they would love to say to shoppers, their biggest frustrations on the job, and rules they wished shoppers knew.

Among the issues – shoppers scowling from the locked doors in the morning.
The insider said until the bell tolls open, the doors have to stay locked.
Shoppers should also be a little more understanding when asked for ID – because as much as they hate giving it, the worker hates asking just as much.
The insider told Kent Live : “Feel flattered I’m asking you to prove you’re old enough to buy that bottle of vodka, because I’m not doing it for fun.”
Then there’s the obsession with the yellow stickers.
YELLOW STICKER OBSESSION
According to the insider, shoppers can spot the sticker printer a mile off, and will wait around for even a small discount.
Next up on the moan and groan list – the 5p plastic bag fee.
That’s law, the insider wants you to know, and it’s meant to stop you taking so many no biodegradable bags.
The employee said : “I’m all for saving the planet, but don’t take it out on the messenger.”
KNOWING THE REGULARS
Despite popular belief, employees are also NOT given a free meal deal for lunch.
There was also amusement to be had with the loyal customers’ routines.
Same time, same place, favourite items – they all begin to get ingrained in your memory, according to the insider.
The comments weren’t all negative though.

Those classic Tesco fleeces – they’re incredibly comfortable and wonderfully warm.
And the final lesson from the undercover information – they hate the self service tills more than you do.They said: “I hold the power to unlock these bad boys, and the red light flashing above you has already told me you need my help.”
