Stacey Solomon takes the kids to LEGOLAND Windsor Resort and shares her tips on keeping them happy on car journeys
I visited the resort with Sun Savers fave and TV host Stacey Solomon plus her sons Leighton and Zac — and I asked her about how to keep everyone entertained on journeys…
SO, how do you keep the boys happy when you are on the way somewhere?
We have a lot of fun together, just hanging out. We tell each other jokes and the boys always make me laugh. Leighton’s pretty good at accents and singing, I always have fun with both of them.
MY TIP: Perfect your joke-telling skills by hunting out the best kids jokes on YouTube for free, or if you fancy a bit of in-car karaoke, sync your phone to your radio and play YouTube’s karaoke versions of songs. I quite like belting out a bit of Celine Dion.
What do you play?
The boys are into video games and might play something on my phone but otherwise, they like reading books or the classic eye spy.
MY TIP: The classics are the best. Go one further and bag a nostalgic game like Guess Who. Hasbro games are currently on offer at Argos — get two for £25, usually from £14.99 each.
Do you stop for drinks and snacks?
I always have a bottle of water nearby but they love a hot chocolate. I pack my own snacks and make them chunky salads that they can nibble on instead of sugary treats. They love fast food but I try to keep them away from it.
MY TIP: Pick up an insulated water bottle but instead of forking out £25 for the S’well 250ml bottle, pick up a similar version from £7.99 on Amazon — for hot and cold drinks.
