Alex Jones is heading off on maternity leave (Picture: BBC)Stacey Dooley, Emma Willis and Mel Giedroyc are among the presenters set to temporarily replace Alex Jones on The One Show, the BBC has revealed.
The 42-year-old presenter has her last show on Friday 26 April before departing for maternity leave, and is scheduled to return in the autumn later this year.
The BBC has since announced who will be stepping in as guest presenters, and there’s range of hosting personalities all ready to jump between celebrity chats and sparrows in Kent.
Here’s The One Show’s full presenting itinerary.
Who is filling in for Alex Jones on The One Show?
Angelica Bell will host from Monday 29 April for three weeks.
Angela Scanlon will host from Monday 20 May for two weeks and Monday 17 June for one week.
Emma Willis will host from Monday 3 June for two weeks.
Mel Giedroyc will host from Monday 24 June for one week.
Stacey Dooley will host from Monday 29 July for one week.
Michelle Ackerley will host from Monday 5 August for two weeks.
These will all join co-host Matt Baker from Monday to Thursday, while a number of guest presenters are set to take Matt’s place while he’s off on Fridays. These include Shane Richie, Joe Lycett, Rylan, Patrick Kielty, Amol Rajan and Ore Oduba, with more to be announced.
Speaking about departing the show, Alex says: ‘I know The One Show will be in very capable hands while I’m on maternity leave and good luck to all the guest presenters – I hope they have as much fun as I do on the show.

‘I’ll be back on the sofa in the autumn, but in the meantime, I plan on watching from my own sofa with little Teddy and the newest addition!’
Alex and husband Charlie Thompson have one child together, and announced in December last year they were expecting their second.
The One Show airs weekdays on BBC One at 7pm.
