THERE’S a rather delicious-sounding new gin being stocked at Sainsbury’s and Tesco that tastes of chocolate orange.
The “Orange and Cacao Gin”, which is made by posh gin manufacturer Sipsmith, combines the the zesty flavour of orange with the sweetness of chocolate.
2 Sainsburys and Tesco are selling a new chocolate orange gin from Sipsmith
A 50cl bottle has an alcohol by volume (ABV) content of 40 per cent and a recommended retail price of £25 – although retailers are allowed to set their own prices.
You can buy a bottle for £25 both online and in store at Tesco and Waitrose but Sainsbury’s has it cheapest where it’s currently reduced online and in store by £3 to £22.
Of course, do bear in mind delivery fees before you order online as these will vary by supermarket depending on how much you spend and what time you schedule delivery for.
The new combination joins Sipsmith’s range of London dry gin, sloe gin, lemon drizzle gin, and V.J.O.P – a strong gin with a 57.7 per cent ABV.

It will also be rolled out to pubs and bars nationwide over the coming months.
Neither Sainsbury’s or Tesco sell Sipsmith’s plain London dry gin, but Waitrose sells a 70cl bottle for £28.50 – it also has a higher ABV of 41.6 per cent.
And while orange gin is already a thing, we couldn’t find any other chocolate orange gins being sold at any of the major supermarkets.
We could only find a chocolate orange gin made by That Boutique-y Gin Company that costs £29.95 for a 70cl bottle with a 46 per cent ABV.
You can buy it on Amazon with free delivery and shoppers say it tastes like Jaffa Cakes, yum.
Firebox is also selling a 50cl bottle of chocolate orange gin liqueur for £29.99 with an 18 per cent ABV – but delivery is £4.99 making it £33.99 all-in.
