A SCHOOL has banned fake tans after pupils turned up “looking orange and green”.
Text messages were sent over the half-term holiday outlining the rule starting today.

It read: “Fake tan worn by students will no longer be acceptable. Wearing it will be considered an infringement of school uniform policy.”
Some of the 1,300 pupils slammed the crackdown from new head Matthew Hardwick at Ulverston Victoria High School, in Ulverston, Cumbria.
Fiona Gibson, 17, said: “There are more pressing issues than fake tan, like bullying.”
Another pupil, 18, added: “The fake tan is not affecting education, although quite a lot of girls in the lower school are fairly orange.”
Parent Gill Turner said: “If a bit of fake tan makes them feel better about themselves then surely this helps with concentration?”
However one student, who asked not to be named, said: “I totally agree with what the head has done. Some pupils that wear fake tan actually looked green.”

Assistant head Richard Butler said: “Some pupils had gone beyond what was acceptable and we wanted to reinforce our no make-up policy.”
