A CHRISTIAN doctor sacked for saying people cannot choose their gender is taking the Government to a tribunal.
Dr David Mackereth, 56, claims he was fired as a disability medical assessor after refusing to identify patients by their preferred gender.

The father-of-four insists that using transgendered pronouns are against his conscience as a doctor and a Christian.
The medic, from Dudley, West Mids, said: “I knew it could be the end of my work as a doctor, but I could not live with myself if I didn’t speak up.
“It would be dishonest and I didn’t want to live a lie.”
Andrea Williams, chief executive of the Christian Legal Centre, described Dr Mackereth as “a Christian hero who chose to sacrifice his distinguished professional career rather than compromise on the Bible and his conscience”.
She said: “The requirement to use so-called transgender pronouns defies common sense and Christian faith. It serves no useful purpose except filtering out firm Christians and men of principle such as Dr Mackereth.”
Employment judges will begin hearing the case in Birmingham today.
The Department of Work and Pensions said assessors must adhere to the Equality Act 2010.
