Robbie Williams and Ayda Fields are in mourning after their pet turtle Giggs died

ROBBIE Williams and Ayda Field are in mourning after their pet turtle Giggs died – leaving his sister, Rooney, with clinical depression.
The couple hired an aquatic turtle specialist to treat Rooney at their Los Angeles home after they realised the two-year-old reptile hadn’t moved for three weeks, and was off her food.

The miserable creature was diagnosed with depression – and animal lovers Robbie and Ayda are now forking out £1,000 on a new turtle pal.
A source said: “It’s been a rough few weeks in the Williams household.
“Poor Giggs died quite suddenly and Rooney – named after Rob’s favourite footballer – was deeply traumatised by the episode; she hasn’t been the same turtle since. She just sits forlornly, staring into the distance, unmoving.
“Ayda and Rob consulted an animal behaviourist, who diagnosed bereavement-inflicted depression – and said they should buy an older, male turtle for company.

Last night Ayda said: “We just want Rooney to smile again, and can’t wait for her to meet her new companion.”
