A serial sex-offender who was caught on his hands and knees looking up a women’s skirt in a railway station has been jailed.
Carl Hannam, 43, was caught in the act when the victim, aged in her 20s, felt something brush against her leg as she stood on an escalator at Leeds Railway Station on October 9.
He had only been released from prison on licence six weeks before for sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl.
Carl Hannam, 43, has been jailed for looking up a women’s skirt (Picture: West Yorkshire Police)After being spotted by his victim with his head up her skirt, he ran away but was caught after CCTV from the train station helped identify him and the GPS from his electronic tag was used to locate him.
When he was arrested, Hannam, from Leeds, initially claimed he had bent down to adjust an electronic tag attached to his ankle.

He was sentenced to four-and-a-half years in prison by Leeds Crown Court, and will serve five-and-a-half years on licence when he is released.
Investigating officer DC Niall Chambers of British Transport Police said: ‘No person should be subjected to such an invasive offence. As soon as this incident was reported, we took action to identify witnesses and locate and arrest the offender.
