Rage 2 - gameplay, trailers, release date and everything else you need to know

RAGE 2 will once again bring players into a post-apocalyptic world that mixes Mad Max, with the hugely-successful console franchises, Fallout and Borderlands.
It’s (mostly) developed by iD software of Doom and Quake fame, with some help for the driving and open-world elements from Avalanche.
BETHESDA Rage 2 will be released later this year
When is Rage 2 released and what’s it about?
Rage 2 is set to be released on Ps4, Xbox One and PC on May 14, 2019.
It is the latest game from Bethesda, a joint collaboration between developers id Software and Avalanche Studios, known for their work on the Just Cause series.
The story is set 50 years after the 2011 original game, in the year 2185, and the world is gaining new life.
Players will explore the story of Walker, the last Ranger of the Wasteland, battling the last remnants of the first game’s tyrannical Authority.
Can I see the latest trailer?
Yes, yes you can.
It shows off a whole host of the ridiculous abilities you can deploy to make your way through the mad, bad and dangerous world, and the ridiculous ways you can dispatch your foes.
It’s epic, completely bonkers, and embedded at the top of this article.
Go and watch it now if you haven’t already; we’ll wait.

Is there a gameplay trailer?
Yes, a gameplay trailer was unveiled on May 15, 2018, before a deeper look at the open world arrived in December.
Developers id Software are referring to the world as post-post-apocalyptic with Rage 2’s gameplay fast, kinetic, and brutal.
The game’s official blurb reads: “Dive headfirst into a dystopian world devoid of society, law, and order.
“RAGE 2 brings together a true open world FPS experience where you can go anywhere, shoot anything, and explode everything.”

How similar is it to Far Cry: New Dawn?
Far Cry: New Dawn was widely mocked for ripping off Rage 2 thanks to its vibrant pink and neon palette and post-apocalyptic.
Publishers Bethesda and Ubisoft have also got in on the act, poking fun at each other’s similarities.

After the Rage tweeted an image imitating Far Cry: New Dawn, the team at Ubisoft replied by gifting them a story trailer for Far Cry: New Dawn.
Rage’s account responded by saying “Oh Sweet. The game looks great! #OnWednesdaysWeWearPink,” complete with the meme of two identical Spider-Men staring each other down.
Is it worth getting excited about?
We’re excited for it, but you can watch the trailers and make your own mind up.
What we’ve seen so far suggests the combat is definitely on point, and the added open world elements definitely work.
If you want brightly coloured, bloody, irreverent and over-the-top action, then it looks set to deliver.
Either way, we don’t have long to wait to find out.
