Piers Morgan inflicted even more pain than usual on Susanna Reid this morning, by giving the poor woman an actual electric shock live on air. And he didn’t feel guilty in the slightest.
Kicking off Tuesday’s episode with a zap of energy, Piers introduced a new bracelet which is being sold online that gives the wearer an electric shock to deter them from bad habits.
So if you have a penchant for ‘eating fast food, smoking, pulling your hair, sleeping in… or interrupting Piers’, this might be the watch for you.
Hm, the last habit’s very convenient though.
Of course, Piers was keen to test drive the bracelet on his long-suffering co-host Susanna, who was understandably hesitant to be given a 300-volt shock at 6am in the morning.
Can you really blame her?
Piers, 53, was insistent that the TV presenter act as his guinea pig saying: ‘You told me about your massive pain threshold.’

Understandably, Susanna was reluctant to be Piers’ guinea pig (Picture: ITV)

Only a 50% zap, he said (Picture: ITV)Badgering her into wearing it, Piers even described her a ‘gutless coward,’ before she called him a ‘torturer’.
Eventually, Susanna relented and had Richard Arnold strap the bracelet around her wrist but not before he wondered if it had been tested beforehand.
Piers, who assured him it was, wasted no time in pushing the button that gave her the zap and, judging by his maniacal laughs, found it highly amusing.
While Susanna wasn’t such a big fan of Amazon’s new invention, Richard seemed to actually get a thrill out of the electric shock so it’ll probably be going in his shopping basket as soon as he gets off air.
Maybe Piers will give it a try at some point as, according to Susanna, he needs to cure his ‘burger addiction’.

Frankly, we could probably use it for our shopping habits.
Good Morning Britain continues at 6am on weekdays.
