Pep Guardiola says he has a ‘beautiful’ rivalry with Pep Guardiola (Getty)Pep Guardiola has indicated that he will be staying at Manchester City by promising that he will be challenging Liverpool for the Premier League title next season.
City retained their Premier League crown on the final day of the season by finishing just a point ahead of Liverpool.
But Jurgen Klopp’s side ended their campaign on a high by beating Tottenham in Saturday’s Champions League final.
Guardiola attended a basketball match between Baxi Manresa and Real Madrid with his father in Catalonia on Sunday evening.
And in a break during the match, the Manchester City manager suggested to reporters that he will not be heading to Juventus this summer as he said he will ‘start from scratch’ in the Premier League next season.

‘When there is such a high level, if you do not have your day, that is when you lose.’
Asked about his rivalry with Klopp, Guardiola replied: ‘We have a beautiful rivalry, but not only with them, there are five very strong teams and that’s why the Premier League is such a tough competition.
‘Next season we will start from scratch and we will see what happens.’
Guardiola backed under-fire Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde (Getty Images)Guardiola also came out in support of under-fire Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde.
‘Valverde seems spectacular beyond the great friendship that unites us,’ said Guardiola.
‘He has done a very good job. It is true that he has lost in the Champions League, but we all lose.
‘A team that wins two consecutive leagues and makes good football, I celebrate that it continues. Barcelona is still true to its style.’
