Our top tips on how to cut down on your supermarket shop by using your phone to bag the best deals – The Sun

WANT to cut down on your supermarket spending? Then stop using your phone in the aisles.
A study has found that shoppers who were glued to their mobiles in stores spent an average of £10 more as they walked at a slower pace. Here’s how to use phones to save money . . .

PERFECT LISTS: Use your mobile notes app to keep track of the items you actually need to buy as you think of them — and then stick to that list. It will help you avoid impulse buys.
COMPARE AND CASH IN: Check prices of the items on your list against different stores. The MySupermarket app is handy for showing you where you can get the cheapest buys. According to its website, using the app saves shoppers an average of 30 per cent — that’s around £1,560 a year.
LOYALTY SCHEMES: If your purse is stuffed full of loyalty cards you always forget to use, you might be missing out on serious savings. Loading all your cards on to the Stocard app takes away the need for physical cards and saves points on to your phone — making it easier to redeem discounts. Stocard works with hundreds of schemes, including Tesco Clubcard, Nectar, Morrisons More, Boots Advantage and Nando’s.
SOCIAL SAVERS: If you want to know the latest deals on new products, make sure you follow my Sun Savers Facebook page. I constantly update it with deals I’ve spotted while out and about. check the page while you’re pushing your trolley.
