United are set for a major squad revamp and Solskjaer is keen to strengthen several areas of his squad.
Swansea City winger Daniel James is on the verge of completing an £18 million move to Old Trafford after undergoing a medical at United’s training ground on Thursday.
Solskjaer is also looking to recruit a new central defender and reports claim that a £350,000-a-week deal has been offered to Ajax centre-back Matthijs de Ligt, although United face stiff competition from Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool, who can all offer Champions League football.

Sancho, meanwhile, was one of United’s priority targets for the summer but the 19-year-old is understood to have reservations about moving to Old Trafford, while Borussia Dortmund want the winger to stay for at least another season.
Rice is also wanted by United but the 20-year-old signed a new long-term contract with West Ham in December and has given no indication that he wants to leave the club.
