Nigel Farage targets Labour heartlands as Brexit Party MEP line-up includes a war hero and a former BBC pundit

NIGEL Farage yesterday vowed to go after voters in the Labour heartlands as he unveiled his star line-up of MEP candidates.
War hero James Glancy and former Tory aide and smoked salmon millionaire Lance Forman are among the five hopefuls running for the Brexit Party.

Mr Farage tore into Britain’s MPs for “betraying” the referendum and warned his new party will rock Westminster, as he addressed the launch in London.
He boasted that many Tories had already “downed tools” or defected to his party in fury at the Brexit delay.
And he warned Jeremy Corbyn: “We’re going to go after that Labour vote in a very big way.”
He added: “They said they would honour the referendum result.
“But almost in slow motion we have seen the party that stood again in 2017 promising to implement the result of the referendum, piece by piece they have now virtually became a Remainer party.”
He fired off the warning shots as he unveiled the latest five candidates to stand for his new party.
They include decorated ex Royal Marine Mr Glancy, who fought in Afghanistan and was awarded the Conspicuous Gallantry Cross (CGC) for leadership and bravery on the
frontline.
He blasted MPs for “undermining democracy” and warned “’our leadership is humiliating the British public on the international stage”.
Mr Forman, an ex special adviser to Peter Lilley, and ex-Communist turned pundit Claire Fox will also stand.
Former charity boss Matthew Patten and ex nurse Christina Jordan are also standing.

She said: “I worked hard to support Conservative candidates in the 2014 European Elections. But now we are in unprecedented times.
“We should have left the EU on 29th March. This time party loyalty is eclipsed by the Leave Remain divide. These European elections are about the need to Leave.
“If we must send representatives to the EU Parliament I want to see Leave champions representing Leave voters not more Remainers.”
