Spoilers for NCIS season 16 below.
NCIS fans were worried about the loss of Special Agent Timothy McGee from the series as the character was offered a new job away from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.
But actor Sean Murray has revealed what his plans are and everyone can relax.
‘I’m under contract right now, so I have no plans to leave the show,’ Murray, 41, told Country Living.
‘I don’t think McGee’s going anywhere.’
That’s a relief!
Don’t leave Timmy! (Picture: CBS)Rumours surrounding McGee’s departure started when he received a gift box from a company who began headhunting him for a role paying, as Timothy put it ‘a lot of money’.
Then on this week’s episode, he took a tour of the ‘elite technology company in Silicon Valley’.
It seemed like hints were being dropped left and right but thankfully, the show’s writers were just trying to scare fans.
Murray has been in the cast since season 1 (Picture: CBS)NCIS has undergone major shake-ups over the years, the Pauley Perrette departure was huge, so Murrays’ exit wouldn’t be too unlikely.
In the promo for next week’s instalment, which is titled ‘…and Executioner’ Timothy is seen working with Gibbs (played by Mark Harmon) to find out who put a hit on the team.
So it looks like he’s staying put for the foreseeable at least.
CBS recently announced that the long-running crime series has been renewed for a 17th run.
NCIS season 16 continues Tuesdays on CBS and Fridays on FOX UK.
