MCDONALD’S now does a vegan version of its famous chicken nuggets – but only in Norway.
The meat-free bites contain whole pieces of sweetcorn as well as a mix of mashed potato, chickpea, carrot, cauliflower and onion.

They’re coated in breadcrumbs and fried to give a crunchy outer layer – and they look just like chicken nuggets from the outside.
It’s not clear yet if the vegan nuggets are being trialled or if they’re a permanent addition to the menu in Norway.
We’ve asked and we’ll update this article if we hear back.
We’re not sure how to feel about them, really – but we don’t have to know, because McDonald’s UK confirmed there are no plans yet to bring the vegan treats to Britain.

It’s not the first time McDonald’s has experimented with vegan food overseas.
In Finland, you can buy a vegan burger called the McVegan, while there’s a vegan Happy Meal available for Swedish kids called the McFalafel.
Back in Britain, there are no vegan options but the chain launched its first ever vegetarian Happy Meal in January.

There’s now a Veggie Wrap option for kids to pick, and the fast food chain has also launched a spicy version for adults on its main menu too.
Norway has about 70 branches of McDonald’s – compared to more than 1,200 in the UK.
Meanwhile, McDonald’s Monopoly promotion has been branded a “danger to public health” by Labour MP Tom Watson, who says it should be banned.
