McDonald's Monopoly - 3 ways to increase your chances of winning

MCDONALD’S annual Monopoly sweepstake is back for another year – and there are three ways you can boost your chances of bagging the top £100,000 cash prize.
Every year the restaurant gives away millions of prizes when customers peel off stickers on items from the fast food giant in the hope they can win a free apple pie or even a new car.

Now, we can reveal the tips and tricks that will maximise your chance of bagging the best goodies from March 20 – which is when the giveaway begins this year.
Every time you buy a qualifying McDonald’s product, there will be stickers on the packet that represent tiles on the classic version of Monopoly.
Some will give you “instant wins” but otherwise you have to collect sets just like in Monopoly to win big prizes.
Maccies fans will also get one online game token every time they buy an item with stickers on, which can also give you prizes.
How to boost your chances of winning
McDonald’s McDonald’s Monopoly is back for another year
There are three ways to increase your chance of taking home a prize: by looking out for rare stickers, using online stickers at off-peak times, and wombling.
You can no longer increase your chances by “going large” to get more stickers as McDonald’s now offers triple stickers on medium meals as well as large ones.
1. Use online game stickers at off-peak times
You’d be amazed at how many people don’t keep hold of their Monopoly stickers after buying food from the fast food chain.
But don’t throw these away – even if it’s a sticker you’ve already collected.
Each sticker comes with an online game code, which you enter on McDonald’s website to try and win more prizes.
There are cash prizes of up to £100, as well as food vouchers and NOW TV passes.
But you’ll only win if you enter the code at what McDonald’s calls a “winning moment” every day.
To make the odds of winning easier, fast-food lovers should avoid entering their codes at peak times, according to MoneySavingExpert.com.
If you enter your codes during your lunch hour, there will be a lot of other people doing it at the same time.
This means there’s more chance of losing out to someone else by a split second.
But if you enter in the early morning or overnight, you will have less competition and more chances to cash in.
2. Look out for rare stickers

The rare stickers are the same every year, and the better the Monopoly set, the harder they will be to find.
McDonald’s has confirmed the rare stickers are the same this year, which we’ve listed below along with the prizes they’re linked to for this year’s giveaway.

Dark Blue – Mayfair – £100,000 (four available)
Green – Bond Street – Mini Cooper (15 available)
Yellow – Coventry Street – £2,000 holiday with LoveHolidays (50 available)
Red – Strand – PS4 Pro (500 available)
Train stations – London Liverpool Street – A phone of your choice with a one year Sky Mobile contract (300 available)
Orange – Marlborough Street – Urbanears wireless headphones (1,000 available)
Pink – Northumberland Avenue – £50 JD sports voucher (5,000 available)
Light Blue – Euston Road – £30 Boohoo voucher (14,000 available)
Brown – Old Kent Road – Medium extra value meal (2million available)

In many cases, more of these prizes are available as “instant win” peelable stickers.
3. Womble
Many people will check their food items for “instant win” stickers, and then discard them if it’s a tile to be collected, according to MoneySavingExpert.com.
If you spot empty packets or cups, check to see if there is a sticker you can use.
This practice is known as “wombling”.
It’s not always approved by companies, but millions of people do it across the country.
How does McDonald’s Monopoly work?

Every time you buy a qualifying McDonald’s product, there will be stickers on the packet that represent tiles on the classic version of Monopoly.
You can stick these tiles onto a board, and collect them to win prizes.
Some stickers will be instant prizes, such as a free drink or a burger, and there will also be an online sticker, which can be redeemed for an online voucher or prize.
But the main stickers to look out for will be part of a traditional double or triple set, where the prizes are much bigger.
Whether you get a double or triple game piece which consists of two or three stickers depending on what you order.
For example, medium and large fries have double labels.
