MARTIN Keown proved he’s not a man to be messed with after telling Jake Humphrey he’d “put him away” over a sarcastic dig during Arsenal’s win over Napoli.
The BT Sport host, 40, mocked Keown’s insight that the Gunners are only halfway in the tie before the former hardman defender shut him down live on air.
Martin Keown threatened to ‘put Jake Humphrey away’ live on air
Keown had watched his former team storm to a 2-0 victory at the Emirates before things kicked-off in the studio.
The 52-year-old said: “It’s very obviously only half-time in the tie…”
Before he could finish, Humphrey interjected: “Great observation, Martin.”
A clearly riled-up Keown hit back, saying: “You trying to put me away, Jake? I’ll put you away.”
“GREEN STREET 6”
Keown was clearly not being serious, as he continued to chat with Humphrey and John Hartson for the rest of the show without any issues.
But the aggressive comment left Twitter users in stitches, with one saying: “Martin Keown sounding like he’s about to audition for Green Street 6…”
Another claimed: “Martin Keown is such a cannon.”
But a third added: “Tbf you wouldn’t mess with Keown.”

Earlier in the evening, Arsenal had put in a superb first-leg performance to beat Napoli 2-0.
Firstly, Aaron Ramsey swept home a flowing team move, before Kalidou Koulibaly scored an own goal moments later.
It was a stark contrast from previous first-legs, were the Gunners had been embarrassed by BATE Borisov and Rennes.
