Man Utd on worst run in 57 years as Solskjaer admits City are kings of Manchester

OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER has admitted Pep Guardiola’s City are the top dogs in Manchester after their 2-0 win at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils are currently on their worst run since 1962 having lost seven out of their last nine games in all competitions.

In that time, United have shipped in 20 goals and netted just six times – with the club yet to score from open play since April 2.
The loss against City leaves Solskjaer’s side all-but certain to be playing Europa League football next season, sitting three points behind Chelsea in fourth spot.
While City have leapfrogged Liverpool back into first place with just three more wins needed to retain their Premier League title.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Solskjaer, 46, said: “We got a reaction, but we were beaten by a better team. But we had a go.
“We didn’t hit the target too many times but the work rate was there. We just wasn’t good enough.
“There’s a difference in quality – that’s why they are top of the league. They’ve set the standard. Living in Manchester, we can’t be happy with that.
“That’s up to us to close the gap and eventually overtake them. That’s the challenge.”
Solskjaer, 46, hopes United can weather the storm and come out stronger despite their dwindling hopes of a Champions League spot.

He added: “Having a time like this we must stick together, batten down the hatches and make sure we don’t do anything rash or stupid.
“We must stick together as a team and come back fighting.”
United legend Roy Keane has claimed that the current squad will throw Solskjaer under the bus just as they did to Jose Mourinho in a scathing attack.
