Barca were a long way from their imperious best at Old Trafford on Wednesday night but head into the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final with a one-goal advantage.
Luis Suarez’s header deflected in off Luke Shaw in the 12th minute and referee Gianluca Rocchi awarded Ernesto Valverde’s side the crucial away goal following a VAR review to check for offside.
Despite batting against the odds to qualify for the semi-finals, the Red Devils can take encouragement from their last-16 victory over PSG in which they overturned a two-goal deficit at the Parc des Princes.
Asked about United’s chances of completing another comeback away from home, Solskjaer replied: ‘To do it would be an even greater achievement than that.
‘The PSG performance gives us the hope and belief that we can do it.
‘We are playing against probably the favourites in this tournament and going to the Nou Camp is going to a challenge.

‘We can carry a goal threat, but we have to provide more ammunition and chances.’
McTominay was arguably United’s standout player on Wednesday evening (Picture: Getty)Scott McTominay produced a coming-of-age performance from midfield and Solskjaer heaped praise on the youngster following United’s defeat.
‘The boy is developing every time he plays,’ the Norwegian said.
‘He comes into training every day with a fantastic attitude and that’s the way to improve.
‘Every game he grows and he grows and today he was the first one who took the ball down and settled us. We had to slow the game down.
‘We were too quick to give the ball away. After 15 or 20 minutes we settled and Scott and Fred and Paul [Pogba], the three midfielders did really well.’
