Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was furious with his players after the defeat to Cardiff (Picture: Getty)Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tore into his Manchester United players following their dismal 2-0 defeat to Cardiff City on the final day of the season and threatened to sell half of the team.
A double from Nathaniel Mendez-Laing ensured that United’s turbulent campaign ended in dismal fashion and Solskjaer made his feelings about the performance known to his players at full-time.
According to the Sun, Solskjaer said that the players had embarrassed him, the club and the supporters before telling some of them that they have played their final game for the club ahead of the summer transfer window.
After the match, there was a tense stand-off between Paul Pogba and the United supporters, with one fan being heard to shout at the Frenchman ‘have some f****** respect’.

Solskjaer made an immediate impact when he replaced Mourinho as manager in December, however, since being appointed permanently in March, results have been extremely worrying.
United won just two of their final 12 fixtures, taking just a point from relegated duo Huddersfield Town and Cardiff City in their final two games to slump into sixth place in the Premier League table.
Although the report fails to mention any specific names, Pogba has been increasingly linked with a move to Real Madrid, while the futures of Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial are all uncertain.
Ander Herrera has already announced his departure and is expected to join PSG, while Juan Mata and Antonio Valencia are both out of contract. David De Gea has a year left on his deal and has also been linked with PSG.
Given results this season, Solskjaer is expected to be given plentiful funds to revamp the squad, although his task has been made more difficult with United unable to offer potential recruits Champions League football next season.
