Lingard last 16 minutes against Liverpool (Picture: Getty)Jesse Lingard has played down concerns about his latest injury set-back after a disastrous appearance against Liverpool at the weekend.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s gamble to bring on the not fully-fit Lingard in the first half spectacularly backfired within 16 minutes as the winger went down injured.
Lingard was withdrawn as a result and fears are growing the Englishman has aggravated a muscle injury he picked up against Paris Saint-Germain two weeks ago.
But the United star issued a short injury update on his social media, assuring supporters he would be ‘back soon’.
Despite an injury horror show in the first half against Liverpool, United held the Premier League leaders to a 0-0 draw.
The result will be another major boost to Solskjaer’s side, who have improved dramatically under his leadership.
