A man was dragged to death after a bag he was carrying got caught in a moving subway train.
The unidentified 39-year-old man was caught by the train at Grand Central Terminal in New York City Tuesday night.
He was dragged off the platform and onto the train tracks before being pulled into a staircase, then an electrical box.

One Twitter user who claimed to be at the platform when it happened, but did not respond to requests for comment wrote this:
‘The man was staggering down the stairs, and appeared to be either intoxicated or under the influence. He staggered into the train as it was departing at full speed. This only happened because he stumbled into it, and had bad luck that he got dragged away.’
‘He apparently walked or leaned into the train as it was departing at full speed. A stroke of bad luck that he fell in such a way that the train pulled him into tunnel,’ he wrote in another tweet.
Police are investigating whether the man was intoxicated.
