Man dead in third London killing in 24 hours



Police are yet to make any arrests (Picture: Google)Police have launched a murder investigation after a man in his 30s was fatally stabbed in east London.
Officers were called to the scene on Alton Street, Tower Hamlets, just before 2pm on Saturday.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, near Langdon Park DLR station in Poplar.
Enquiries are continuing to notify next of kin and post mortem will be scheduled in due course.
Police say there have been no arrests and officers retain an open mind as to motive.

‘Teams across the city are working tirelessly – day and night – to identify and pursue offenders, help bring perpetrators to justice, take weapons off the street, support victims, engage and reassure the public, and keep our communities safe.
‘However, the police cannot solve this problem alone. The police, our partners and the public must work together to deal with knife crime and prevent further lives being lost.’

Emergency services were first called to reports of a stabbing on Deeside Road in Wandsworth, south-west London, at 4.42pm yesterday evening.
They found a man, believed to be in his late teens, in a critical condition. Despite the efforts of paramedics, he died at the scene.
Six men were later arrested and taken to separate west London police stations for questioning.

Armed police, local officers, the London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance all attended, but the victim died a short while later.
Three men and a woman were later arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to separate south London police stations for questioning.
Both of the victims have not yet been formally identified by police.
