Amy says she has never had a boyfriend (Picture: ITV)Amy Hart might be living it up in a Mallorcan villa at the moment, but back home she’s become the victim of a ‘cruel’ rumour spread by a ‘jealous friend who wants to sabotage’ her time on Love Island.
According to reports, a family friend has been trying to spread a false rumour that the 27-year-old has had four long-term boyfriends and even introduced one her past loves to her parents.
The gossip was designed to paint Amy as a liar, as she claims to have never had a serious boyfriend in her life.
‘The innocent Amy is all an act,’ claimed the anonymous friend, but sources close to the Hart family have rubbished the claim.
Talking to the Mirror, the insider said: ‘Amy has been on dates and has been seeing boys before but she has never had a boyfriend. She is very close to her tight-knit family and it would take someone very special for her to take things to the next level and introduce them to her parents.’
‘Her friends and family are hopeful that Curtis might be that special person.’
The news comes just days after her family were forced to release a statement denouncing the trolls who had sent death threats to her social media accounts.

Curtis and Amy have been coupled up since the beginning of the show (Picture: ITV)‘Everyone is entitled to their opinion, however the way some people are gunning for Amy is shocking and really upsetting for her friends and family and everyone who knows and loves her,’ they posted to her Instagram after viewers accused her of ‘bullying’ Lucie Donlan.
‘…The volume of hateful comments and death threats we have received over the last couple days has been completely off the scale and extremely upsetting.
‘…We would like to ask those sending malicious and vile messages to think about the implications of their words and threats before plastering them over social media. Anyone who knows Amy knows she does not deserves this.’
More: Love Island

Amy and Curtis – who have been coupled up since the start of the show three weeks ago – had a bit of a tiff in the latest episode.
It came after Curtis revealed he thought Arabella was a better kisser than his other half after the girls took part in a snogging competition.
Ouch.
Love Island continues daily, at 9pm, on ITV2.
