A LABOUR peer yesterday revealed an explosive new plot at the top of the party to “deal with” Jeremy Corbyn.
Lord Levy said he had been urged to stay by both the Labour leader in the Lords Angela Smith – and deputy leader Tom Watson.

And he revealed both said it was critical that moderates stay in the party to “fight from within” and “deal with this leadership”.
The comments came as he denied to the BBC that he had any intention of joining the new breakaway “Independent Group”.
It came just days after Tom Watson demanded Jeremy Corbyn shake up his Shadow Cabinet team in a bid to stop more defections.
He then described Labour’s plan to make it easier to force by-elections when MPs defect as “knee-jerk” and “spiteful”.
Mr Corbyn yesterday snapped back that there was nothing “knee-jerk” or “spiteful” about him.

The Labour leader then issued a new attack on the 8 MPs who have left the party – refusing repeatedly to say they’d be allowed back.
He told ITV News: “If they apply to come back in the future we can have a look at it.
“They have left the party, they have made their own decisions.”
Arch ‘Corbynista’ Labour backbencher Lloyd Russell-Moyle separately branded Luciana Berger and The Independent Group “scabs”.
The rows came as Owen Smith, the Labour MP who challenged Jeremy Corbyn for the leadership in 2016, played down talk he could defect.
Challenged about growing speculation that he will, Mr Smith told The Sun: “Let ‘em think what they want.”
Margaret Hodge ruled out leaving.

One other former Shadow Cabinet Minister said he was considering what to do – adding: “Corbyn’s not helping himself with the way he’s reacting.”
Labour separately shut down its confidential voter canvassing system – amid fears MPs about to leave could download the data to use against the party.
Sources claimed one of the eight tried to access the personal data held on the system.
