The England midfielder made his long-awaited comeback from a knee injury in the 3-1 victory.
After starting the match, the 25-year-old only lasted 40 minutes before being taken off clutching his hamstring. The plan was for Oxlade-Chamberlain to play the first 45 minutes.
Liverpool U23 boss Neil Critchley said: ‘He obviously had a bit of an issue but hopefully it’s nothing major.

‘He was enjoying himself, he was happy to be back playing. Hopefully when he wakes up in the morning, fingers crossed it’s nothing and only a precaution.
‘The idea was only ever to play him for 45 minutes at most anyway. He nearly got that, as well.
‘Hopefully it’s not as bad as it first looked. He was looking over [to the bench] and we weren’t sure. It’s maybe some kind of muscle problem and maybe one to assess tomorrow.

Speaking before the midfielder’s outing, Jurgen Klopp revealed his delight at Oxlade-Chamberlain’s quicker-than-expected return.
‘Ox is a very smart boy and it is clear that he needs some sessions to prepare himself for a game,’ the German boss said.
‘He wanted these games [for the Under-23 team] as well. These games we will see for sure.
‘It looks very positive but it was a long time he was out so we need to be sensible but we think the right time is now.
‘Derby is a tough opponent. The previous game against Everton he could have played but I wasn’t sure about the intensity but now he is ready and we’ll let him start. We are excited of course.’
Liverpool, who are currently second in the Premier League, face Burnley this weekend.
