So he has drafted in three academy players to make the trip to Selhurst Park – Angel Gomes, Tahith Chong and Jimmy Garner.
The Manchester United chief expects to be without Antonio Valencia, Phil Jones, Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera.
Defender Marcos Rojo is touch and go but Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood are likely to miss out.
Solksjaer – who turned 46 on Tuesday – said: “We’ve not had a session yet so I don’t think there are a lot of positives, no.
“I don’t know the list that’s suppsoed to be injured. Matteo trained the other day, I don’t think he’ll be ready.
“Rojo will be involved, Rashy we’re still waiting to see how his ankle is responding to the treatment, muscle injuries are too early to think about. That’s it.
“The kids are joining in today. They’ll be involved in the squad.”
