The gang are back at AC-12 (Picture: Aiden Monaghan / BBC/World Productions)Line of Duty excitement is building, and don’t the BBC just know it.
The fifth season of the acclaimed cop drama is due later this year, and, following the release of a tense teaser trailer earlier this week, further tantalising promo material for the new episodes has emerged to keep the hype train rolling.
The BBC One show will welcome two new guest leads for season five: Rochenda Sandall and Stephen Graham, who will play Lisa McQueen and ‘Balaclava Man’ John Corbett respectively.
And we’ve been given our first glimpse of the new dastardly duo in action – here they are, pictured with associates from their organised crime group who, according to a synopsis, are ‘known to have links with corrupt police officers and suspected to be under direct command of the shadowy figure known only as “H”‘.

Sadly for anyone who might be hoping that McClure and Graham will stage a mini This Is England reunion in the new season, you’re out of luck: it’s unlikely that the pair will actually appear in any scenes together, with Graham seemingly confirming as much back in December.
The six-part fifth season of Line of Duty still hasn’t received an official premiere date – but, looking at previous premiere dates, we could be seeing new episodes by the end of next month.
