Lilly Singh comes out as bisexual, urges fans to 'embrace superpowers'



She’s embracing her superpowers (Picture: Getty)YouTuber Lilly Singh has come out as bisexual and has accompanied the announcement with an overwhelmingly positive message.
Would you expect any different from Superwoman?
The comedian and YouTube star took to Twitter to share the news, using a checklist.
‘Female, Coloured, Bisexual,’ she wrote. ‘Throughout my life these have proven to be obstacles from time to time. But now I’m fully embracing them as my superpowers.

And the Canadian star received an outpouring of love from her YouTube pals and fans, with My Drunk Kitchen host Hannah Hart writing: ‘I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!!!’
‘IM SO PROUD OF YOU LILLY!! my heart is exploding!!!!!!’ Shane Dawson added.
Gabbie Hanna wrote: ‘Proud of you bbg, so happy you’re finally comfy enough to say this out loud!!!!!’

Later, the 30-year-old added: ‘Thank you so much for the love and positivity. Words can’t describe how much it means. I appreciate you all. Group hug.’
The star, who currently boasts a following of more than 14 million, is most well known for her comedy sketches and has featured her fair share of celebrity pals on her channel, including Terry Crews, John Cena, and Rita Ora.
Late last year Lilly took a well-earned break from YouTube to focus on her mental health, and later opened up to her fans about prioritising self-care.

‘What’s going on 2019? And can I just say, I am happy,’ she beamed at the beginning her first video of this year as she referenced her break from the platform.
‘For years and years, I have been making two videos a week,’ she explained. ‘I want to make videos when I have an idea that really does inspire me.’
We reckon she’s doing pretty well so far.
