Liam Payne opened up about his experience with knife crime (Picture: Getty Images)Liam Payne has said being held at knifepoint was one of the ‘scariest’ moments of his life.
The Strip That Down singer recalled the incident on Twitter and has now teamed up with The Mirror in their campaign against knife crime.
Speaking to the paper, he described his experience as ‘one of the scariest things I’ve been through’.
Liam said he and a friend were lured to a town three miles away from the centre of Wolverhampton – his hometown – by a guy who then pulled a knife out on them.
Liam explained: ‘This 6ft 2 guy said, “I will tell you the truth lads, you’ve been brought here today to get jacked,” my life flashed before my eyes.

‘We ended up giving him what we had in our wallets,’ Liam said. ‘Eventually we just legged it and jumped on the nearest bus even though we didn’t know where it was going.’
The former 1D star confessed he never told his parents about the incident and stressed how important it is to speak up and tell someone, as they can help.
Liam said he and his friend often say how ‘lucky’ they are to still be here and tackling knife crime is now a cause close to his heart – especially now he is a dad.

Naomi has refused to confirm if she is dating Liam (Picture: ITV)They announced their split in July last year and Liam is rumoured to now be dating 48-year-old supermodel Naomi Campbell.
They’ve been linked since December and have only added fuel to the fire by flirting with each other on Instagram.
Liam has been spotted outside Naomi’s home on several occasions and they’ve been seen attending the same events, but are yet to make a public debut and have arrived separately.
Naomi wasn’t giving anything away during an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show recently. In the pre-recorded chat – that airs Saturday – she shut down any talk of Liam and claimed he’s just ‘another name’ she’s been linked to.
Awkwardly palming Liam off as just another rumour, she said: ‘I never discuss my personal life. Another name?’
‘I never discuss my personal life. I mean, it’s crazy, it’s like one day it’s one person, the next day it’s another. Who is tomorrow? That’s what I want to know.’
