Jeremy Kyle has been officially axed (Picture: ITV)The Jeremy Kyle Show has been officially cancelled by ITV today, following the death of guest Steve Dymond by suspected suicide after filming an episode of the long-running talk show.
ITV confirmed their decision to pull the series off the air for good was due to the ‘gravity of recent events’.
CEO of ITV Carolyn McCall announced: ‘The Jeremy Kyle Show has had a loyal audience and has been made by a dedicated production team for 14 years, but now is the right time for the show to end.
‘Everyone at ITV’s thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of Steve Dymond.’
Since the news of Mr Dymomnd’s death broke there have been widespread calls to end the show due to its ‘exploitative’ nature.
Although others have come out in defence of its aftercare procedure.
In light of the news, here’s a look back at some of the show’s most barbaric moments.
1. When Jeremy lost it at a guest and security were forced to step in
The guest Andrew threatened his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend and the host exploded at him, squaring up and calling him a ‘horrible little thug’ and an ‘idiot’.
He shouted at the angry guest: “I just want to ask you something. Who’s got a criminal record for domestic violence?”
2. A couple found out they were long lost half brothers
Paul and Lee’s devastating revelation was played out on the show for shocks.

3. An older woman boasted about being a ‘swinger’ and a ‘pornstar’
Siobhan shocked Jeremy when she revealed the youngest man she had slept with was 23.
The 62-year-old’s situation was exploited for cheap laughs on the show.

4. A mother got her daughter to sleep with Sugar daddies to fund their cosmetic surgeries
Georgina pushed her 23-year-old daughter to sleep with ‘sugar daddies’ to fund their surgery addiction in a joint quest to look like Katie Price.
She admitted that she felt rubbish and knew that it was not right.
5. Guests being harassed on twitter because of their teeth
Guests’ appearances were fair game for targeting on the show.
Jeremy later funded Gemma Swift’s dental work.

6. An episode that never aired for being too violent
ITV pulled an episode an in July 2015 because of its violent content and denied provoking the guests involved.
7. The studio audience mocked a man who opened up about suffering from domestic abuse.
The host turned on the audience in this case.
Geoff said he was forced to jump off a balcony to escape his abusive ex.
8. An addict was discovered to have used drugs in front of a baby
This episode featured a particularly dark spectacle as a guest’s struggles with addiction led to a violent outburst on stage as the audience nervously giggled.
It was also revealed that a bloody needle was left near a 22-month old baby,
What most of these moments have in common is they feature vulnerable people being used for cheap entertainment.
