APPLE is preparing a “frosted glass” iPhone with a triple-camera system on the back, according to an expert.
One of the top mobile industry watchers says the new device will be the most expensive version of the rumoured iPhone 11 – and could launch this year.
AP:Associated Press Apple is supposedly working on a new “frosted glass” design for the iPhone 11
The predictions come from Ming-Chi Kuo, an expert analyst at TF International Securities with a stunningly accurate track record for Apple guesswork.
This time Kuo suggests that the top iPhone 11 model will feature three cameras on the back, according to 9to5Mac.
That’s not a huge surprise, as Apple has already upgraded the iPhone with two rear cameras – and rivals like Samsung and Huawei are offering three or four.
Having multiple rear-facing cameras can be a major boon to a phone’s photography potential.

For instance, multiple cameras can work together to sense depth, allowing you to use augmented reality features – like Pokémon Go or advanced Snapchat-style filters.
Also, each camera can serve a different purpose to upgrade your photo game.
By combining wide-angle lenses and zoomed-in telephotos lenses, you can have a wider range of snapping modes on your phone.
But that’s not all Kuo is predicting for the new iPhone 11.
He also believes that the new iPhone will have “frosted glass” casing, which would be a first for Apple.
The handsets are also predicted to feature reverse wireless charging that powers up other devices, as well as larger batteries.
AFP or licensors Apple generally releases new iPhones in September each year
So when can you get your hands on the iPhone 11?
Apple is keeping mum about an official release date, and hasn’t actually confirmed that the iPhone 11 even exists.
That said, predicting the iPhone 11 release date is fairly easy.
The big launch event always takes place in September, and generally falls early on in the month – on a Tuesday or Wednesday, typically.
This year, the likeliest dates for an Apple event are Tuesday, September 10 or Wednesday, September 11.
Our money is on the former, so mark it in your calendars.
Of course, the iPhone won’t actually arrive in stores on launch day – you’ll have to wait about a week and a half to actually buy one.
Pre-orders will likely become available on Friday, September 13.
And our best guess is that the phone will turn up in your local Apple Store on Friday, September 25.

And in terms of pricing, expert analyst Dan Ives, of Wedbush Securities, recently told The Sun that the top iPhone model will stick to a similar high price this year, while the base model will get even cheaper.
“While the next version of [iPhone] XS will have similar £1,000 price points, we believe the next version of [iPhone] XR will have price tags in the £600 range – a 20% cut from the £740 today,” he explained.
