APPLE has released a major iPhone update that you can download right now, and there are new features you’ll probably want to try.
We’ve put together a quick guide to the iOS 12.2 release, including how to download it today.

iOS 12.2 update – what’s new?
There are loads of new features, the biggest of which is the addition of the Apple News+ service.
This is a subscription service that gives you access to premium magazines – and even news titan the Wall Street Journal.
Sadly, Apple News+ remains a US-only feature for now, but there’s still plenty for Brits to enjoy in iOS 12.2.

Here are all the new features:
Apple News+ – a paid-for subscription service that costs $10 a month, but it’s US-only for now
More Animoji – there are several new animated Animoji emoji, including the shark, warthog, giraffe and owl
Siri controls for Apple TV – you can now use voice-controlled Siri to enact very specific functions on an Apple TV, like playing specific shows on boxes in a given room
Audio Message boost – the quality of your audio messages in the Apple Messages app has been improved
Group Facetime – this feature was recently shut down after a major bug, but it’s now back
New subscription pricing – apps can now charge discounted subscriptions, which can then be upgraded to higher pricing
Air Quality – you can now see the air quality in your local area, which may be depressing if you live in a big city
The update also includes dozens of bug fixes, which should make your iPhone experience a lot smoother.
How to update your iPhone to iOS 12.2
Here’s the official advice from Apple on how to update your iPhone:
Plug your device into power and connect to the Internet with Wi-FiTap Settings > General > Software Update
Tap Download and Install
If a message asks you to temporarily remove apps because iOS needs more space, tap continue or cancel.
Your iPhone will reinstall any removed apps later.
You can also set your iPhone to update to the latest iOS version automatically.
To do this, go to Settings > General > Software Update > Automatic Updates, and toggle the setting on.

Apple recently revealed a credit card of its own, dubbed the Apple Card.
The fruity firm is also creating a video gaming subscription for the iPhone called Apple Arcade.
And Netflix has a new rival from the iPhone maker in the form of Apple TV+.
