THE hypocrisy of Jeremy Corbyn knows no limits.
Last week, puffed up with his usual self-righteousness, the Labour leader grandly declared he would boycott the official banquet at Buckingham Palace for Donald Trump next month.

His reason for this snub? According to Corbyn, it is because the US President had indulged in “racist rhetoric”.
Well, that is certainly something Corbyn knows a lot about.
His entire political career has been spent in the poisonous swamp of toxic anti-Semitism enveloping his party with the foul stench of his bigotry. Racist rhetoric? Corbyn’s leadership is a monument to prejudice against the Jews.
Hardly a week goes by without some shocking new evidence of his association with nasty sectarianism. Only yesterday, it emerged that in 2011 Corbyn produced a glowing endorsement for a new edition of a historical book that peddled vile conspiracy theories about Jewish control of international capitalism.
Entitled Imperialism: A Study, the book was originally written in 1902 by the radical author J.A. Hobson, who believed that the quest for empire was driven by the interests of the European finance houses dominated by Jewish families such as the Rothschilds.
The commercial policy of every European state, wrote Hobson, was controlled “by men of a single and peculiar race”.
His work had a tremendous influence on a host of anti-Semitic socialist thinkers at the beginning of the 20th century, most notably Lenin, the leader of the Russian Revolution.
Lenin once described Western supporters of his totalitarian regime as “useful idiots”. That is a perfect description for Corbyn, whose ideological idiocy and rampant anti-Semitism has been on parade ever since he first became an MP in 1983.
Labour’s constantly embroiled in bigotry claims.
This latest scandal is just another chapter of his journey through ex-tremism.
Without any recognition of how offensive Hobson’s material was, Corbyn described the book in a foreword as “a great tome” and “very brilliant”.
Such comments expose the darkness at the heart of his political thinking — and his hatred of a free popular Press. For, also in the foreword, he praises the “correct and prescient” parts of the book “railing against the commercial interests that fuel the role of the popular Press with tales of imperial might”.
Last month, two Labour municipal candidates were suspended for supporting anti-Rothschild propaganda on social media, yet the party’s leader has done the same in writing.
Faced by the mounting evidence of his racism, Corbyn’s defenders usually resort to two tactics.
On the one hand, they say it is part of a smear campaign “by people who are trying to discredit Jeremy” to use the words of his closest trade union ally, Len McCluskey of Unite. Or they claim his alleged anti
Semitism is really nothing more than anti-Zionism, based on his passionate support for the Palestinian people and his opposition to the state of Israel’s military aggression.
But this will not wash. The Hobson book has absolutely nothing to do with Israel.FISH ROTS FROM THE HEAD
Indeed, it was published in 1902, almost half a century before the Jewish nation came into existence. No, Corbyn’s anti-Semitism is clear. It is bound up with the classic negative, hard-left stereotypes of Jews as grasping, wealthy capitalists who exploit the poor. He would not dream of indulging in such smears against any other group of people.
There is no way that Corbyn, always posing as the champion of equality, would shower praise on a historical work that attacked Asians or Africans.
But the Hobson saga is just part of a pattern. In a Facebook post in 2012, he offered his backing to a graffiti artist who had produced a controversial mural in East London full of offensive anti-Semitic imagery.
Damningly, it featured a group of hook-nosed Jewish bankers playing Monopoly on a table which rested on the backs of oppressed workers.
In the same vein, the following year, Corbyn sneered at a meeting that English Zionists — usually a left-wing codeword for Jews — had “no sense of irony” despite “having lived in this country for a very long time”.
CORBYN’S SHAMEFUL RECORD
When his outburst emerged last year, the former chief rabbi, Jonathan Sacks, described Corbyn as an “anti-Semite” whose “embrace of hate defiles our politics”. Given Corbyn’s shameful record, it is no wonder that Labour has been in permanent turmoil since he was elected leader in 2015.
The party is constantly embroiled in charges of bigotry because of the conduct of Corbyn and his supporters.
Only last month, the Jewish Labour Movement passed a motion of no confidence in his leadership, while last year the veteran MP for Barking, Dame Margaret Hodge — who lost several relatives in the Holocaust — called him “a racist” and “anti-Semite” to his face.
Amid accusations of inaction over anti-Jewish conduct by members, the party is the subject of investigations by both the Metropolitan Police and the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
A string of MPs, led by the Jewish moderate Luciana Berger, have defected from Labour in disgust at Corbyn. While he remains at the helm, Labour will continue to be tainted. As the old Italian saying goes, the fish rots from the head.
