A man was seen running away from the block shortly after the incident, on Monday at about 5.15.pm, but was held down by witnesses until the police arrived.
One local told the Daily Record: “I could hear hysterical screaming and I went to the window and I saw the woman being held by the hair.
“She didn’t fall right away, because she was trying desperately to hold on to the window sill and she was scratching at the wall with her feet, trying to get a hold to keep herself from falling.
“It was terrible to watch.”
The eyewitness who took the harrowing photo helped tackle the man who tried to run away from the scene.
He described an “African guy” tried to get away but he fell over a wall and was grabbed by a concierge and few women.
