GAME of Thrones fans, it’s been two ridiculously long years since Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Cersei Lannister and the Night King were last on our screens.
Why has season 8 taken so long I hear you ask (especially as it’s the shortest series in the show’s history)?
Game of Thrones season 8 has arrived in the UK
“It’s because it’s the biggest thing we’ve ever done,” Game of Thrones co-creator David Benioff explained. “Even though it’s six episodes, it took us … it was nearly a full year in Belfast either prepping it or actually shooting it.
“I think it’s quite extraordinary what the crew and these actors have created. And I think when people see it, they’re going to understand why it took so long.”
Interesting – but what else do we currently know about Game of Thrones season 8?
Well, although the cast have been doing countless interviews with press in every corner of the globe, everyone from Emilia Clarke to Kit Harrington have been under strict orders from HBO to not give anything away – frustrating I know.
Fortunately, it’s not too much of a pain anymore as the first episode has finally arrived.
