We can rule out Daenerys hooking up with The Night King, thankfully (Picture: HBO)As we rear towards the next instalment of Game Of Thrones’ eighth season, there are a lot of theories flying about as to what may go down in the coming weeks.
With only five episodes left to wrap up the final chapter, fans are going into overdrive as to the hints and speculation they’ve witnessed thus far.
Even though cast members and showrunners alike are like iron fortresses when it comes to any sort of spoilers, that hasn’t stopped the diehard show followers prophesying what they hope, dream and wish may come of their favourite characters.
One such theory that has been blown out of the water faster than Viserion was turned into a White Walker is that Daenerys may become betrothed to the Night King.
Yes, that villainous fiend who is after our heroes and really needs to work on his skincare routine may end up wedding the Mother Of Dragons. Well, that’s if you believe the chatter. And there’s a lot of it.
It’s just not to be, though, we can proudly tell you, after tracking down Watchers On The Wall’s deputy editor Luke Nieto.
According to the show expert, who has seen more of the next series than he can let on, we bet, he rejected the idea we’ll see a Night Queen in the form of Dany.
‘The White Walkers have been presented as a supernatural force of nature,’ he told Metro.co.uk.
‘Death personified, a weapon of the Children of the Forest gone awry.

‘They aren’t going to be placated with human concepts such as weddings.’
Phew, right? We already know Bran isn’t going to be the Night King (well…so we hope, at least), thus basically we’re just working towards our Starks and their mates coming out of this thing alive.
All mess hit the fan ahead of the first episode last week, after one nifty Redditor came up with the keen idea the Night King has a target and it was Jon Snow’s new squeeze.
Dany won’t be white walking down the aisle anytime soon (Picture: HBO)‘I believe that the Night King is after Dany to be either his new queen or to take over as queen (him wanting peace = death),’ the fan explained. ‘One way or another, both living dragons will die in battle. ‘Distraught by losing her dragons, Dany with be persuaded to join the Night King to be reunited with her dragons so she gets her ICE THRONE.
‘In the history and lore of Game of Thrones, there is a story of the 13th commander of the Night Fort fell in love with “a woman made of ice.” She became his Ice Queen and they ruled together. People would sacrifice babies to them, similar to how Crastor sacrificed his sons.
They added: ‘I believe the Night King is after Dany to be his new Queen. She’ll agree, so she can be with her dragons again. So in a way, she still gets her throne and that’s why in her vision the iron throne is covered in snow because she’s meant to be on an ice throne.’
Heavy, right? Luckily we can (hopefully) strike that theory off the list.
Game of Thrones returns tomorrow night at 9pm on HBO and will be simulcast on Sky Atlantic. Seasons one to seven are available to stream on NOW TV.
