Game of Thrones' Jerome Flynn says Bronn's 'humour' stopped him being killed off as he admits show saved him from decade-long dry spell in his career

GAME of Thrones star Jerome Flynn says Bronn’s “humour” saved him from being killed off in the fantasy epic.
The actor also praised the HBO show for having revived his career when he bagged the role as the sarcastic sellsword, after Jerome spent 10 years without an acting role.
Actor Jerome Flynn, 56, says Bronn has survived eight seasons because of his sense of humour
Bronn has been a prominent character throughout the series and is still at the centre of many fan theories as to how season 8 ends.
And whilst Jerome, who was once a pop superstar as part of Robson & Jerome, wouldn’t reveal his fate, he admitted to ITV’s Lorraine that he was shocked Bronn had managed to stay alive.
He said: “There’s a few of us that have made it through, I never thought Bronn was going to make eight seasons but the writers enjoyed channelling their sense of humour through him.
“It’s his humour saved him … for me there will never be another show like it.”

The 56-year-old actor, who plays mercenary Bronn on the HBO show, believed he would never act again amid his career dry spell and moved to Pembrokeshire in a bid to start a new life.
However the odds were in his favour after his agent rang him in 2010 about a role on the beloved series, which comes to an end following the eighth season.
He said: “I hadn’t been on screen for ten years. I had bought an old farm in wales with the proceeds of my career with Robson and Simon (Cowell) and I thought, ‘maybe I won’t got back’.
“But I’d spent all the money renovating the buildings and then that came along. It was amazing because I got Ripper Street, and they were both in Ireland, so to spent time also over there.”
