Auction site eBay says the online market for second-hand toys is worth more than £170million, with Lego and Funko among its top-sellers.
Here are the toys that could help you clean up.
My Little Pony. This classic has been trotted out to kids since the early Eighties. Your old dolls — and your kids’ — could make you a profit.
First-generation ponies tend to be worth the most. Listings on eBay for “vintage” versions are upwards of £10 each.
EARN: At least £10 per doll
Lego. If you don’t have a complete set, you can sell the plastic bricks by the kilo. MusicMagpie and zapper.co.uk buy bags of miscellaneous Lego by weight.
MusicMagpie pays £4 per kilo and Zapper pays a fiver.
Bricks needn’t be new but they shouldn’t be broken or dirty. Pack it in a sealed plastic bag before posting it to the traders for free.

Sylvanian Families. The woodland critters can earn you dosh on second-hand websites such as preloved.co.uk. There, items from the range cost around £15 per “family” — so you could coin it in if you have a large collection.

Computer games. Got a stack of games gathering dust because the console is obsolete? Head to Cex (uk.webuy.com) to pop some pounds back in your purse.
While games can fetch a few quid each, bundles such as the Band Hero kit for Sony’s PlayStation3 could earn you £23.
